If the process isn’t handled correctly, any property or possessions held in the sole name of the deceased cannot be released. The process needs to happen quickly too; identity fraud is on the increase and, sadly, some criminals will seek to steal the identities of people who have died.

For a typical estate the entire process can take between six to nine months, and there are complex procedures to follow. At ITC we can take care of everything for you, including:

• Completion of the appropriate Inheritance Tax forms for you (including IHT400 & IHT205)
  
• Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax covering the completion of a deceased’s personal tax affairs
  
• Application for the Grant of Representation on your behalf (called a Grant of Probate if there is a Will, or Letters of Administration if there is no Will)
